General Election Bulletin - 24 June 2024
Since the election was called, we have shared information and best practice with you on dissolution, staffing, winding-up, and budgets and finances.
All of our communications are also available online, on the General Election 2024 – essential reading page.
We will be here to support you throughout the next few weeks, whatever your circumstances.
We would like to thank you for your continued collaboration over the past years.
Need to know
This is the last week of dissolution, so we wanted to remind you that:
You must complete the Declaration Form to confirm whether any IPSA funding was used for campaigning. You must send the form no later than 5 calendar days after polling day. If you need to make a repayment to IPSA, please use a clear reference when doing so.
Travel for campaigning is not claimable, but you and your staff can still claim for the cost of travel related to your parliamentary work.
If any members of staff want to campaign on behalf of an MP, please note that they cannot do so during working hours. MP staff can still take leave (paid or unpaid) or use time-off-in-lieu (TOIL) for this purpose.
Please also note that:
From this week you are able to see an overview of your budgets and spend on your IPSA Online dashboard, under the Budget v Expenditure Report tool. It is important to monitor your year-to-date spending against budgets so that this does not leave you at risk of overspending. You can find more information in our guidance.
Our phone lines will be closed on Thursday 4 July and Friday 5 July. Our normal phone service will resume on Monday 8 July.
