Five top tips for staffing leave and absence
Full payroll proxies can use the MP Office Annual Leave & Sick Details report in IPSA Online to keep track of all staff leave and sick days.
In IPSA Online, you can submit sickness and holiday requests. Use IPSA Online to record holidays taken as it will automatically adjust your holiday entitlement and make it easier for you to keep track of how many days you have left in the year.
You can carry over a maximum of 5 days of holiday each year (pro-rata for part-time staff). You can watch our short videos for guidance.
The holiday leave year in an IPSA model contract runs from 1 January until 31 December. You should follow what is in your contract and your leave year should not be changed.
If you are a payroll proxy you can submit a leaver form on behalf of a staff member, but any leaver can submit this form themselves. Make sure the amount of annual leave the staff member has taken is correct on the form.
