MPs should consider IPSA’s regulatory principles, including parliamentary purpose and integrity, when entering into subletting agreements.
Any use of IPSA funding must support parliamentary functions only and must not be used to support electoral or party-political purposes.
MPs must make decisions objectively and not seek any financial or material benefit for themselves or for family members, friends, political associates or other connected individuals.
Subletting arrangements should reflect the actual cost of the office space used, including rent, utilities and other running costs, and be broadly in line with local market rates.
