Updates to provision of IT equipment
Our previous policy on equipment required you to apply for funding through the contingency process for requests for additional equipment.
Based on your valuable feedback, we have updated our process to make it easier for you to get the equipment you need.
The Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) provides all MPs and their Staff with all the necessary hardware equipment for the duration of their term.
For a full list of equipment PDS provides, visit Provision of IT equipment for Commons Members & their staff – PDS policy. You can also download a copy of the policy.
You must still contact PDS in the first instance for all your queries regarding hardware equipment for your office. IPSA will not provide funding for any hardware equipment that PDS can provide, in line with para 3.27 of the Scheme.
You can now claim for equipment below £50 from the office costs budget. For all other instances, please discuss with IPSA before purchasing equipment, for example, if you need a different specification from what PDS provides.
For more information, including what evidence you must submit, visit our guidance on the Provision of IT equipment.
Please do not purchase equipment over the value of £50 without first discussing this with IPSA.
