Five top tips for budgets and finances

01 | You can continue using your Payment Card during dissolution, but only for costs to support you in carrying out your parliamentary work. Please keep your reconciliation up to date in IPSA Online.  

02 | During dissolution, you have 90 days to make a claim. This reduces to 60 days during the winding-up period if you leave Parliament.

03 | If you leave Parliament your budgets for the financial year will be pro-rated to the end of the winding-up period. Pro-rated budgets will be reflected on the IPSA Online dashboard in the week after polling day.

04 | It is important to monitor your year-to-date spending against budgets, so you are not left at risk of overspending. Year-end 2023-24 spend will be ready for you to view on IPSA Online before polling day.

05 | If you are returned to Parliament, your budgets for the full financial year will remain unchanged.
